Whenever a yacht requires air conditioning for three or more separate areas, it may be beneficial to consider using a central chiller system. This system allows for the cooling capacity to be distributed to multiple air handlers that operate independently, all from a single central cooling unit. To achieve this, a chilled water circulation system is installed between the central unit and the air handlers. This system uses a mixture of water and glycol which is maintained at around +4 °C. The Webasto chiller units are equipped with high efficiency multi-plate heat exchangers.
